Therapy with Older Adults
As an older adult, you are met with a unique set of changes not yet experienced by other age groups. The process of aging brings about the need to adjust to a wide variety of changes, whether they be physical modifications, functional limitations, or other alterations in social functioning. Common concerns can include a feeling of “What should I do next?” or “How did it come to this?” Additionally, an often a non-discussed, challenge of aging can involve how younger generations relate to you.
We can work together in therapy to address these common developmental concerns. Discussing adjustment issues with a therapist that has an understanding of the unique challenges of an older adult can be greatly beneficial for your mental well-being.
