Dr. Matthew Young Psy.D.

From a Professional Point of View

Dr. Young earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center-Zucker Hillside Hospital in Queens, NY.

Dr. Young provides individual, couples, family, and group therapy across different settings to help individuals with a wide variety of problems they have experienced in their life. He works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults that are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, personality issues, and adjustment to life stressors. In addition to providing therapy services, Dr. Young also conducts psychological and academic evaluations for adults and children to help determine their relative strengths and weaknesses.

Dr. Young utilizes an integrative approach to therapy that revolves entirely around your individual needs. “Together we will develop goals for your treatment and work on alleviating your distress in a timely manner. I have a passion for learning and am constantly working to refine my skills in therapy based on the latest scientific research. You can expect a genuine, practical approach to your mental well being.”

Additionally, Dr. Young has presented at national conferences on how therapists can assist diverse populations that have experienced trauma. He has volunteered to provide such services in Haiti and has been certified in Psychological First Aid by the American Red Cross. Prior to starting his career as a therapist, Dr. Young served as a volunteered firefighter in New York.
